Date:
Sat 03 Jun 2017
Venue:
Laurel Mountain
Details:

The first Laurel Mountain Volunteer Group trail work day for 2017 is on National Trails Day, Saturday, June 3. The work day will begin at 10AM, and we will end the day around 2-3PM. Please meet at the Laurel Mountain warming hut, located off of Laurel Summit Road. Projects for the work day will include trail brush back, armoring wet sections of trail, invasive plant removal, and much more. Be sure to bring along work gloves, eye/ear protection (if running saw or pole trimmers), water and/or a bagged lunch. Light snacks, extra water, and Gatorade will be available. Tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own loppers, hand pruners, trimmers, etc. Note: to use a chainsaw at a volunteer day you must be certified through DCNR’s chainsaw course.

Our friends at REI have donated prizes for us to raffle off as well, so don’t miss this opportunity to win some nice gear.

If you have any questions or concerns prior to the work day, please contact Rachael Mahony, Environmental Education Specialist for
